- 1 whole chicken, cut up
- 6 dried ancho chiles
- 4 dried mulato chiles
- 2 dried pasilla chiles
- 2 oz Mexican chocolate
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 slice bread, torn
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp anise seeds
- Salt to taste

Toast chiles in dry pan until fragrant, soak in hot water 30 minutes

Toast sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and spices separately

Char tomatoes, onion, and garlic over open flame

Blend soaked chiles with soaking liquid until smooth

Blend charred vegetables, seeds, bread, and raisins

Fry chile mixture in oil 10 minutes, stirring constantly
